Alphonso Davies leaves the Bayern Munich game with a hamstring injury

Canadian men’s national soccer team star Alphonso Davies left Bayern Munich on Saturday morning with an apparent groin injury.

The full-back was chasing Hertha Berlin’s Marco Richter for a goal in the 62nd minute when he sprained his right hamstring. Davies then replaced Lucas Hernandez in the 64th minute.

Bayern have two more games on November 8 and November 12 before the 2022 World Cup break.

Canada’s men’s national team will play its final pre-World Cup friendly against Japan on Nov. 17, following a scheduled Nov. 11 match against Bahrain for MLS players.

Canada’s first World Cup match is on November 23 against world powerhouse Belgium.
