Con, Quito upset CF Montreal for win over Chicago Fire

CHICAGO – Ismail Kon scored before going on a red card in first-half stoppage time and CF Montreal beat the Chicago Fire 2-0 on Saturday.

Cone scored his second goal of the season in the 19th minute to give Montreal (15-8-4) a 1-0 lead, and Rommel Cueto found the back of the net five minutes later to make it 2-0. Cone was disqualified after receiving his second yellow card in the third minute of extra time.

Montreal has set club records away from home this season with eight road wins and 26 points. Montreal won its fourth straight road game for the first time in club history.

Chicago (8-13-6) was shutout at home for the third straight game – the first time that has happened since 2009.

Sebastian Briza had four saves to earn a clean sheet for Montreal. Gaga Salonina stopped four shots for the fire.
