Scott McTominay scored deep into stoppage time to give Manchester United a 1-0 win over Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on Thursday.
McTominay received a pass from fellow substitute Jadon Sancho and slotted the winner past Nigeria international goalkeeper Francis Uzuho at Old Trafford.
Uzoho has made some good saves for the Cypriot club, denying Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and others. Casemiro hit the crossbar in the first half.
Ronaldo made a rare start for United as he pressed his case in the Premier League to score in the opening game of the season after scoring the winner against Everton on Sunday. .

Andrea Belotti salvaged a point for Jose Mourinho’s side with a second-half equalizer after a Sergio Canales shot had given the hosts a first-half lead. The Spanish team is leading the group with 10 points. Roma is in four games. Ludogorets beat HJK 2-0 to remain second in seven.
European Championship newcomers St. Gallius of Belgium drew 3-3 at home to Berga. Vitor Oliveira’s hat-trick put Braga 3-1 up but the hosts hit back with a second from Victor Boniface and another from Dante Vanziere. Union remain in Group D with 10 points.
Group F was tightly contested, with Feyenoord held 2-2 by Midtjylland while 10-man Lazio drew 2-2 with Sturm. All four teams have five points.
Ciro Immobile converted a penalty in the last minute of the first half for Lazio before team-mate Manuel Lazzari received a second yellow and was still sent off in stoppage time.
William Bowing equalized before Pedro Rodriguez put Lazio ahead but Bowing made it 2-2 with his second.
Fenerbahce won 2-1 at AEK Larnaca and Rennes beat Ukraine’s Dynamo Kyiv 1-0 in Krakow, Poland for joint top of Group B with 10 points.
Europa Conference League
In the third-tier Europa Conference League, West Ham beat Anderlecht 2-1 to extend their perfect start to four wins in Group B.
Said Bennrahma scored from a free kick and Jarrod Bowen added another from 15 meters (yards). Sebastiano Esposito scores a late penalty for the Belgian club.
West Ham won 1-0 at Anderlecht last week. The teams met in the 1976 European Cup Winners’ Cup final, which Anderlecht won 4–2.
