Ligue 1 round-up: Monaco beat Montpellier, extending winning streak to five games

MONTPELLIER, France – Brielle Emboulo and Myron Bodeau scored in fifth place as Monaco secured a 2-0 victory over mid-table Montpellier on Sunday to move within two points of the top three spots in the French league. The series extended to five games.

Seconds before the half-hour mark, Wissam Ben Yedder fed Swiss striker Embolo, who fired into the roof of the net for his fourth league goal this season.

Embolo was replaced in the 72nd by Dutch forward Myron Budo, who doubled the lead in the 80th minute by turning in a low cross from Kaio Henrique.
