Manchester United responded to Ronaldo’s explosive comments

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester United says it is trying to establish the full facts behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portugal international said he has no respect for manager Erik ten Hague and feels “betrayed.”

So far, only excerpts have been released and the US says it will wait before deciding on the next step.

“Manchester United notes the media coverage of the interview by Cristiano Ronaldo,” the Premier League club said. “The club will consider its response once the full facts are established.

“Our focus is on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing to build on the momentum, trust and unity that has been built between the players, manager, staff and fans.”

Ronaldo conducted an interview with Piers Morgan’s Uncensored and criticized Ten Hague, who left him on several occasions this season.

“I don’t respect him because he doesn’t respect me,” he said. “If you don’t respect me, I will never respect you.”
