Striker Bolay Dia drilled in that first goal after Qatar defender Bolim Khokhi tried to clear without pressure, failed to connect properly and landed behind him.

At the beginning of the second half, Famara Didio made it 2-0 with a header from a corner.

Qatar’s substitute Mohammad Muntari gave the hosts a 2-1 win with a header. But Qatar’s fightback lasted six minutes before Bamba Deng scored twice for Senegal.

Qatar have lost both of their matches and will be out of the World Cup after a week on Friday if the Netherlands and Ecuador draw their other Group A match.
