Ten Hague says Ronaldo will not leave Manchester United

MANCHESTER, England – Manchester United manager Erik ten Hague insisted on Wednesday that Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave the team in the final days of the transfer window.

Uncertainty over Ronaldo’s future in the United States only increased after Tuesday’s signing of another forward, Brazil international Anthony, from Ajax.

When asked if Ronaldo remains part of his plans after Anthony’s arrival, Ten Hague said: “(It’s) definitely clear.”

“We need quality players. You need more to cover all the games to keep it consistent. That’s what we’re trying to do.”

Ronaldo is leaving United this summer to join the club in the Champions League.

The transfer window closes late on Thursday.

With Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also set to complete a move to the United States, Ten Hague said further signings were unlikely in what has been a busy window for the 20-time English champions.

Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Terrell Malicia, and Christian Eriksen have already joined the United States.
