Winless Leicester are in turmoil after defeat at Brighton leaves the club without a win

BRIGHTON, England – Leicester plunged into more turmoil in the Premier League on Sunday with a 5-2 loss at Brighton to remain in last place and without a win after six games.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was already under pressure ahead of his side’s fifth league defeat of the season, particularly with its defense at the Amex Stadium.

The visitors failed to grab a first-minute lead through Kelechi Iheanacho, with goals from Luke Thomas and Moises Quesido giving Brighton the lead after 15 minutes.

Petson Daka equalized in the 33rd but Brighton suffered second-half goals from Leandro Trussard and two goals from Alexis McAllister – a penalty and another from a curling free-kick in stoppage time – for Leicester.

Leicester have just one point and there seems to be discontent behind the scenes, with Rodgers complaining during the week that he “hasn’t contributed to the (transfer) market this team needs.”

Leicester, who have conceded 16 goals in six games, have played central midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in recent matches, while goalkeeper Danny Ward has been prone to mistakes and has fallen short of the outgoing Kasper Schmeichel. .
